We launch the 90s competition with bonus prizes, reveal the winners from the 60s and declare another future competition.

Current Competition

Today, 20th January, we launch the 90s decade champions. So you can now see if you know your Oasis from your Blur, your Take That from your Boyzone, or your Spice Girls from your All Saints. You must select the years 1990 to 1999 (either use the 90s button, or the prize years on the year selection screen), and get the most points.

This time we are giving away two copies of the U2 Double Live DVD Popmart - Live From Mexico City. For further details on this check out our prizes page. http://www.ultquiz.co.uk/prize.php

Winners and Rankings

I have now decided to change the way I do the rankings and from now on, for prize years competitions, not artist bias, I am only going to rank the scores from the hall of fame from the players who chose the correct prize years. So for the last competition it was 1960 to 1969. Please also note I am not just picking the top scores either, I am picking a players highest attempt that was for the 1960 to 1969 prize range.

 1 ( 1 ) Kim Summers
 2 ( 4 ) Steve Cann
 3 (Re) Howie Ross
 4 ( 3 ) Si Harris
 5 ( 2 ) Stewart Lennox
 6 (13) Lynne Arundell
 7 (12) Kevin Staples
 8 ( 5 ) Michael McCarthy
 9 (NE) Richard Cox
10(NE) Vaughan Davies

Where Re is a Re-Entry (a player coming back into the top ten), and a NE is a New Entry (the first time that this player has made the top ten).

So looking at the rankings, top of the shop for the second consecutive time is Kim Summers, he won the top prize last time, and will not be able to win the top prize for another 3 competitions. 2nd place is Steve Cann who won the Christmas Number 1s bonus prize. So Steve Cann now moves up to get the top prize. This is Steves 2nd first prize win, his first came in June last year for our first artist bias competition the Beatles and the Stones.

Back in play and eligible for the top prize for the 90s competition is Howie Ross.

Competition Schedule

20/01/2008 - 02/02/2008 -- 90s (Decade Champions)
03/02/2008 - 16/02/2008 -- 70s (Decade Champions)
17/02/2008 - 01/03/2008 -- 80s (Decade Champions)
02/03/2008 - 15/03/2008 -- Class of 2007
16/03/2008 - 29/03/2008 -- Madchester

Madchester was a term in the late 80s to describe the then indie music scene in Manchester. This artist bias competition will feature the Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, 808 State, the Charlatans and James. The prize year range will be late 80s to 90s (exact range to be declared nearer the time). I know the Charlatans did not come from Manchester but they were a major part of the scene according to Wikipedia.
