This time we launch the new best freestyle range competition, introduce the forgot password functionality, declare another future competition in the competition schedule and ask will Stewart Lennox retain his number 1 ranking and take his fifth first prize?

Current Competition

Today, Sunday 30th September, we start the best freestyle range competition. Looking at the year ranges used in the freestyle 3 competition, not including single years or straight decades (i.e. 80s, 90s etc.) and choosing one which we have not had before, I have decided to pick 1975 to 1985. This was used by one of our new players over the last fortnight, Gail Roberts from West Midlands. Thanks Gail.

To win this competition you must get the highest score, by the closing date of Friday 12th October. Yes, thats right a Friday. The next competition after that Stock Aitken and Waterman will start on the Saturday 13th October, and therefore the next newsletter will be on the Saturday afternoon. I am out on the Sunday, and more about that in two newsletters time. Normal service will be rusumed from 28th October. (i.e. Sunday mornings for the newsletters and change over of the competition at midnight on the Sunday).

This will be the last of the prize years competitions for at least a couple of months, as the artist bias point competitions are back from next time.

Winners and Rankings

Well, without further ado, Stewart Lennox is the overall winner and wins his 5th first cash prize. Stewart joined in April this year and since then has been ranked number 1 on every competition. Not always winning as you can only win one competition in any 60 day period and secondly you must win using the featured prize years.
Here is a list of Stewart's winning competitions :

Eurovision
Last 5 Years
Freestyle 2
My Favourite Five Years
Freestyle 3

Well done Stewart.

You can check out all our previous winners in the winners history section of the site. http://www.ultquiz.co.uk/winner.php

Si Harris is back in play for the best freestyle range after winning the Spice Girls competition.

Unfortunately there are no bonus prizes at the moment, I am currently speaking to other companies to get donations, we will have some more prizes in the next few weeks.

Here are the rankings for Freestyle 3 :

 1 ( 1 ) Stewart Lennox
 2 ( 2 ) Si Harris
 3 (RE) Michael Hallows
 4 (RE) Paul Gilbert
 5 (RE) Steve Cann
 6 ( 5 ) Howie Ross
 7 ( 3 ) Graham Mather
 8 (NE) Matthew Stapleton
 9 (14) Gary Egan
10( 9 ) Ian Capon

Where NE is a new player in the last fortnight and RE is a previous player coming back to the top ten after a break.

Game News

There is still some isolated freezing on the game, this is being addressed but is taking longer than normal to fix. We need to deploy some new game logs so we can track exactly where the problem occurs, more on this in future newsletters.

Other News

Last Thursday I went up to Enfield to partake in a pop quiz run by one of our players Howie Ross (a.k.a. DJ Howie Roscoe). As I went on my own, I joined another team and managed to get them up to fifth place out of 10. Howie's quizzes are really good fun, there are normally 7 themed rounds of clips of music and you have to name the artist and titles. These clips range from the 50s to the 00s. Howie runs these quizzes every Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesdays he is at The Crown, 360 Hornchurch Road, Hornchurch, Essex, RM12 4TW, and Thursdays he is at The Old Bell 223 Baker Street, Enfield, EN1 3LA. Quizzes start from 20:30 and normally go on until just before 23:00. If you live near to either of these why not pop down and see how you get on. You are allowed to have a team of up to 8 players.
