Current Competition

Today, 16th September, we have the third in our freestyle competitions. This is where anything goes and any range can win the cash prize. The next competition will have a range that was used in this competition (not single years), a range that we have not used before for previous competitions, details in the next newsletter.
I have reduced the time on the higher levels, to make it a little more interesting, also taking the hangman down to 30 seconds for the last life.
Still lots of artist bias competitions in the pipeline, including pop families over Christmas and in the next few months Its A Rap and Manchester Bands.
Winners and Rankings
Now on to the winners and bonus prize. Please note this is the last of the OCC Goodies bonus prizes, we will have an announcement shortly with some further prizes as a couple of companies have offered to donate and I am working on this. So for the new Freestyle competition there will only be a first prize.
The winner of the overall prize is Graham Mather from North Yorkshire, as Stewart Lennox and Si Harris are both exempt from winning as they have won in the last couple of times, and their highest score was not the chosen year range. Graham won the bonus prize last time and now steps up to the big league and wins his first, first prize, well done Graham. To see our winners history see http://www.ultquiz.co.uk/winner.php
The last of the OCC Goodies bonus prizes goes to Kevin Staples from Surrey. Kevin has been a regular player since December last year and this is his first prize in UltQuiz. Well done Kevin.
Please note Stewart Lennox is back in play for the next competition.
Here are the top 10 rankings (not including the blank entry) :
1 ( 1 ) Stewart Lennox 2 ( 2 ) Si Harris 3 ( 3 ) Graham Mather 4 ( 6 ) Michael McCarthy 5 ( 4 ) Howie Ross 6 (12) Kevin Staples 7 (NE) Jonathan Pyne 8 (RE) Ian Capon 9 (NE) Ronald Bosch 10 (11) Lynne Arundell
Where NE is a new entry to the top 10 and RE is a previous player coming back.
Game News
Some of you have been experiencing freezing problems on the quiz. It seems that if you leave the quiz for 30 minutes or more and come back then the quiz can fail to update scores, artist bias points etc. We are looking into this. We are also improving our game logs so we can diagnose these problems when we see them. Please bear with us during this time, and hopefully in one of the next newsletters we wil announce a fix has been uploaded.
The hall of fame also featured a blank entry at position 6, this was due to a timeout while the player was playing multiple games, again this is being investigated.
