Current Competition
Today, Sunday 19th August, we start our biggest artist competition so far with 8 artists in total. We have looked back over the last 30 years and seen who was number 1 in August, the artists in this competition are shown below with their corresponding August number 1 records.

For all artist competitions from now on there will be a prize year range, so this one will have prize years of 1977 to 2002. You must play this range to qualify for the first prize. For more detals see Game News .
Thanks to Si Harris for the August Number 1s suggestion. You too can still suggest further artist themes. In the pipeline before the year is out we will have Stock Aitken & Waterman, Pop Families and It's A Rap competitions. Winners and Rankings
Stewart Lennox did it again and was the top scorer in the Spice Girls competition. He cheekily beat Si Harris with the same number of Artist Bias points, but a higher overall score. However Si now gets his own back as Stewart is currently frozen out. Therefore Si Harris from Derbyshire is the third person to win a fourth first prize (if that makes sense!!). Well done Si.

Please note Gary Egan is now back in play and is eligible for a first prize as he won the Class of 84 competition back in June.
The bonus prize goes to Scott Auld from Northamptonshire. Every one above Scott in the hall of fame has either won a first prize or a bonus prize. Scott joined in July this year and has been a regular player since then. Well done Scott.

Game News
As mentioned above prize years have now been incorporated into artist competitions, this functionality has always been available but was not used because I wanted to allow every one a time to get used to the artist competitions format. The prize years now make it harder and should stop the big scores as people could play year ranges that were totally irrelevant to the artist competition and still win.
Some further game freezing is being experienced at the moment this has been reported and is being treated as urgent. If you do experience any issues please send me an email with a screenshot, so we can investigate.

Changed hosting companies on Tuesday (14/08) from the afternoon, so during that time and possibly up to 2 days later you might have seen the URL including the name hercules, all this should have cleared now, and we are back to ultquiz.co.uk.
When setting up my new email settings I was flooded with contact form emails from back in November, December, and earlier this year. At the time, the contact form was not passing emails to me, and to make matters worse had an auto-reply that said I would reply in 3 days time. I have since replied to a number of you that emailed back then apologising. The contact form will make a come back soon once we have the security code put on it. The registration page now has a security code on it as well.
Since changing hosting companies the email functionality from the website has started working again, but we need to look at the 'Forgot Password' function as this is not working. It goes through the motions but does not actually change the password. This will be addressed very shortly.

Later in September the return of the Freestyle competition, followed by myself picking an unusual range that was chosen in Freestyle 3. No single years will be picked but I am looking for something we have not run before.
